Vasantham Pengal Sangam (VPS) celebrated International Women’s Day in collaboration with Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University Agriculture students and VPS Self-Help Group (SHG) leaders. Around 10 agriculture students, VPS staff, and SHG women actively participated in the celebration.
The program was graced by Chief Guest Thiru Arumugam, Chief Manager of the District Central Cooperative Bank, who encouraged women to strengthen their leadership, unity, and social participation.
As part of the celebration, several fun and awareness competitions were organized, including lemon spoon race, thread collection competition, and water filling activity, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and teamwork among the participants. A women’s awareness rally was also conducted to highlight the importance of women’s empowerment and equality in society.
Prizes were distributed to the competition winners, appreciating their active participation. The program began with a welcome address by VPS Director S. Padma, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by VPS Treasurer R. Kanjana.
The celebration strengthened the spirit of women’s empowerment, unity, and community participation, marking International Women’s Day in a meaningful and inspiring way.
